The Volunteer Parent - Swim Banquet — Celebrating Swim Season in Pictures!

Last night we had our swim banquet for our high school team. Usually, we would have had the ‘Winter Sports Banquet’ at the school before now, however, this year we were on our own to do our own thing. The annual Winter Sports Banquet was cancelled due to a very scary event with our boys’ basketball team. The banquet was cancelled because of a game that had to be rescheduled to that specific night. So after that, there were no open nights for another banquet night…

I have to admit, I didn’t think it was actually going to happen although I had been planning it for over a month and a bit. I reserved a room at a pizza place and it was $13 a person. I wasn’t going to do centrepieces because so much was happening but I’m glad we did now. They were not grand and spectacular by any means but the kids LOVED them:)

Milk, Cookies and Mustaches!

Several years ago, I was looking for something a little different to do for our teachers/staff during Staff Appreciation week. We did not have a huge budget at all and at this point in the year, teachers really don’t have a lot of time to stop and sit and visit. The closer to the end of the school year, the crazier it gets for everybody. I wanted to create something fun. I had just bought some really cute mustache stamps and I knew that’s the theme I wanted to go with. I just had to find something fun.

Harlem Wizards Update

Good morning:)

I wanted to give yall an update this morning on our First Top Picks from the PTO Expo – Harlem Wizards Fundraiser Show.

This last Thursday, I sat down with your AD and we talked about what it’d take for us to put this together. The last time we spoke, he said I should do it for the swim team because it’d be a great fundraiser (I was heart was dancin’ at this prospect!). Thursday, when we sat down to look it over and look at the specifics of what we needed it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be for us.

PTO Expo – Our 3rd Top Pick:)

Here we are at our 3rd Top PTO Expo Pick!!

I have to say I’m really excited about this one:) I actually presented it to our Middle School Principal yesterday and he loved the idea.

First of all, I have to give my sweet husband credit for this one. We found the booth and I thought it was really cute but almost dismissed it until he stopped me and told me his vision for this product:)

Making Money Selling Butter Braids

One of our best fundraisers last year was with Butter Braid. I had actually never had their product before but our dance studio sold them in the past and they were very successful. One of the dance moms asked if anyone was selling them so I grabbed the chance and set one up for our swim team.

I have always wanted to keep swim as cheap as possible for our team. I wanted to give the kids a chance to help their parents so whatever each of our team members sold, the profit would go into their own account. They could put their portion towards their team suit or they could put it toward their summer swim camp tuition. The way Butter Braid works makes it very easy to see what each swimmer earned.
